So sorry to hear of Karen's passing. From the first day I met Karen training together with Wolfe Tones, she was so friendly, kind and chatty. And as the years passed by we'd catch up at the playground with the boys or the town centre etc. She always loved to chat with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. So sad to hear of Karen's poor health and untimely death. Karen was always so smiley and lovely to meet. I have such fond memories of her from when I was younger and she was working in the leisure centre, she had great patience and was just sound!

On this sad day for Karen's devoted family members, her adored boys Jimmy & Cian, her caring sister Deirdre, fiancé Pa, & her committed carers & shared friends who stood by Karen in her unimaginable pain I offer my deepest sympathies to you all at this very difficult time.

I first met Karen throught my friend Marion in Shannon many years ago. Together our Shannon group Marion, Lorraine, Yvonne, Fiona, Karen, and I would meet for dinner birthday celebrations, and at special times of the year. Karen always greeted you with a friendly smile, warm hug and her sense of devilment & fun always made our occasions special. She always kept me up to date of the Shannon Musical Society productions which she had a keen interest in and brought her great joy.😊

As she struggled with her health, Karen always kept up contact with a strong will and faith never dwelling on her sickness only moving forward. Sleep well Karen, I am sure your mam is waiting for you with open arms at the other side. I will think of you forever until we meet againxx

A tough but always fair competitor on the court, a pleasure to coach and referee and an entrepreneur before her time, running a female only gym in rural West Clare. The bed of heaven to her.

Saddened to hear the passing of Karen. She fought a great battle with her illness and not stopping her from bringing up her 2 boys with the support of those close to her. Karrie as she was known in our house,was a loyal and great friend to my sister Marion and our family. She loved her fitness and helping others get fit! Rest in peace Karrie.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Karen's passing. Although close to 25 years ago, I can still remember her putting us through our paces at the Wednesday 5pm circuit training in the gym within Tellabs in Shannon. She was always great to chat with, she knew how to turn classes into fun occasions and had a lovely, easy way with people. May her gentle soul find eternal rest and may her family find peace and comfort with the passage of time.
