A beautiful young man and family, whom we we will always remember when words are sometimes hard to express. Please accept our thoughts and prayers as parents, school friend, neighbours and peers and please feel free to make contact if ever needed a ear of support or assistance.Many times words are appreciated but sometimes an ear is just as important. While time is slipping on we were sorry that we were away at the time and while we felt present in the mass live stream our hearts can only say we are thinking of ye. Dear Mr and Mrs Shorten,

I am a parishioner at St Matthew's Westminster.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Keelan's death. The news has shattered all of us who knew him as wonderful Pastoral Assistant and friend.

Keelan was always full of light, truly a ray of sunshine and a steadfast and uplifting presence. I will always remember his serenity, his smile and his beautiful voice. He was also very bright and very witty - a wonderful young person. I am glad to have known him, and I will miss him very much.

My heart goes out to you at this very difficult time of shock, loss and grief. I am praying for you and for Keelan, who I know is with God.

[May the memory of you be like a cloak around your family now Keelan] Keelan's smile inspired our Irish class...He developed into a confidant enthusiastic and simply fabulous young man over three years in Bandon Grammar School. His intellect, kindness, interest and enthusiasm for information and facts shone through in radiant abundance. I had, in fact, a job keeping up with him! What an interesting, driven young man, and oh how his heart soared when he got the course in Cambridge. He was delighted..... My sincere condolences to the family of Keelan. I never had the privilege of getting to know him very well as he was always 100% devoted to serving others at St. Matthews, where I have been a rather 'irregular' attendee at Mass on Sunday. But I admired his purity and sincerity in his service to God and the community and the radiance of his kind smile. He truly shone with Divine Light and may he be now among the angels.
