KEVIN BEHAN

May Kevin rest peacefully. I was very sad to hear the news of his passing. He visited over a period in Leitrim with our cousin Peter and left a lasting impression. He was a beautiful human, a kind caring man with a great wit. Our thoughts are with his family, Frances, Alec and family, and all the O'Rourke family.

Very sad to learn of Kevin’s passing and sincere condolences to Hazel, John, Karl, Paul, Emily, Cathy, Lisa and all the Behan family. With his pleasant and thoughtful personality, Kevin made a very significant contribution to community life in Coolock and the Northside and helped so many people. Ar Dheis De go Raibh a Anam Uasail.

To each of you who have offered your condolences and shared some beautiful memories of our Dad & Brother, we want to extend our sincere gratitude. Hearing some of the wonderful stories shared have not only comforted us over the last few days, they have made us smile in our darkest hours and only served to further confirm to us what a truly amazing man he was. Our lives have changed beyond recognition but we know he has given each of us the tools to move forward and do good things in his name.

In the words of Kevin Behan " when you do good.....do better. When you make some noise, make some more."

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to all the Behan family on the passing of Kevin. Working with DNE Drugs Task Force I first met Kevin down the Lane with RASP in 2013. He was an exceptional person, highly intelligent, good humoured and kind. We had many long conversations over the years particularly when he served on our Task Force. He bore his illness with fortitude and never made excuses. It was my privilege to know him. His passing is a sad loss not just to his family but to the whole community that benefited from his tireless work.

More recently we did not build on the relationship that was established during my childhood as your “Julie Pulie”. I wish you could have met my children because I know you would love them. I’m so sorry we didn’t do better Uncle Kevin. That does not diminish the love and fondness that is and was always there for you.
I am glad you are now with Nanny. I’m sure you will still be making noise until we meet again.

Kevin worked very closely with my dad on RASP program. He was such a dedicated community leader. He had the community in his heart and brought a lot of healing and light. Kevin was always a gentleman whenever I met him and was an inspiration to so many. My deepest sympathies to all of his family. He will be sadly missed.
