Very sorry to hear today of Kevin's passing. My deepest condolences to the Plunkett family. My memories of Kevin are of a man who was full of life and energy. He organised so many ski trips, canoeing expeditions, rock climbing and boating on the Shannon as well as dinner parties and nights out. I was privileged to have known him and even more to have shared a flat with Kevin for a year or so in Dublin in the 90's. There was never a dull moment and his cooking was exceptional. I will raise a glass of red in his memory tonight.

Im so very deeply saddened to hear of Kevins death. I know he fought so hard and for so long. Although I never met any of you his siblings, I knew you briefly through him. We "dated" for about 2 years as far back as 2006 and we were close. Only a year and a day between us which makes his passing all the more tragic. We remained friends and kept in contact on whatsapp sharing all the lockdown memes. Most conversations would end with "we must meet for coffee". Ill have to take a raincheck in heaven for that one. He was one of the kindest most caring people I ever met and my deepest condolences go to you his family on his too early loss. The man above took one of the best. Im so so sorry for you all x

Our paths crossed so many times - St Lomans, Dublin, Fulbourn, Cambridge, St Itas and latterly the Nurse Management Mental Health Ireland. Kevin was a bright and talented person and a true professional. He certainly did nursing proud! He was a great support to all who knew him. Thinking of you all today. Take care.

I heard with great sadness about the passing of Kevin. I got to know Kevin when performed HSE investigations together. He was a fine gentleman and an outstanding human. May he find eternal rest. My condolences to his family.

I write from outside the church as you say your final farewell to Kevin. I make it here on the stone seat outside with my children remembering the countless ways he has touched our lives. There are many funny stories, joking, laughing, being together, in canoes, on shannon, camping or simply sharing meals. But mostly what we carry away is the beautiful friendship that we witnessed between their Dad and him. To witness the bond of men who truly loved each other. This and how he allowed us to stay close as he died, leaving a profound teaching in his wake.
As you lift him on your shoulders and walk him to his final destination, our hearts break and are larger for the experience.
Thankyou to you all for all you have done. It has been so precious to watch. I send you such love as you find your new way with this grief. May it soften us all.
