What an honour and a joy it was to have known Kevin. How lucky have I been to have shared so many conversations on art and life with this wonderful man! Some of the best books I’ve ever read were given to me by him and I’ll always keep them. I spent many a happy hour talking with him about Irish art and his scholarship was always so impressive. Rest in peace Kevin, you and your amazing family have touched so many lives!

Kevin was old style, he came from an era of politeness, civility and good manners. All of which he had in abundance.

Kevin was always great company and lived life to the full. The stories about St Petersburg, Sofia (Mary Hanley), Vienna (Thelma), Paris (Philippe), Venice (Annie+Dave), and especially London with his beloved Stanfields, are legendary.

You were the most fascinating person I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful for the time I spent with you at your beautiful home with a guided tour with Feilium of your favourite places. We were very sad to hear of Kevin’s death. He was a charming man and a good neighbour on Brighton Square. We always enjoyed our chats with him and found him most entertaining company. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Anyone who knew Kevin, knew he was the loveliest of people with, among many things, a wonderful sense of humour and a great and broad appetite for life. Mary and I have memories of countless incidents of fun with him going back thro the 30 years when we first met him.
