I have fond memories of Lal spending a lot of time at our house in Tullavrick when he and Frank were young men and I was a small girl. They were great friends and spent a lot of time on the lake when they bought a boat together. RIP

Sorry to hear of the passing of Lal. He gave a lot of his time and effort over many years to protect and improve angling in the West of Ireland for the benefit of us all. His contribution has been immense.

My sincere sympathy to the Faherty family. Lal was a lovely man. He gave me the cottage by the lake for a week many years ago and Mary would call to see we were ok... what lovely people. Loved meeting Lal at the Mara meetings or maybe in the ridge pool with his cousin like. All ways a true gentleman and a great voice for angling. He will be sadly missed.

The first boat I took out on Corrib was from Lal. In the afternoon we had more confidence and opened the throttle in Bog bay. I remember Lal in another boat waving hard to slow us down before we hit a rock. Always a gentleman. Condolences to all his family.
