I rember leo as being a very freindly happy yonge man . I was a year older than him in school so i didnt know him that well but i wish i had all my prayers go to the Hoang family at this verry dificult time

Leo was a classmate of mine in UCD. He was always hard working and on top of the class. I still remember when he got a perfect score from a report and taught all of us how to use a software as good as him, it was back when we were still in first year. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Leo's passing. I had the privilege of teaching Leo during his Mechanical Engineering studies at UCD, advising him on his student exchange year at the National University of Singapore, and supporting his application for graduate studies at EPFL, Lausanne.  Leo was an extraordinarily talented individual, both academically and personally, with a broad range of extracurricular activities and interests. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Leo’s parents, brother, sister, extended family, and friends. As one of Leo's professors at UCD, I had the pleasure to teach him on his BE (Mechanical) and to support his application to EPFL. He was a wonderful young man with a wide circle of friends, and a bright future ahead of him. May he Rest in Peace.

The staff and students in UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering where Leo studied for his Bachelor’s degree are shocked and saddened to hear the news of his passing. Leo was a very talented student and excelled academically as a UCD Entrance Scholar and obtained a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also achieved a huge amount beyond his academic studies, through his charity work, programming projects and part-time jobs.
