My sympathy to all the family on the passing of a lovely man. As a young girl, more than 40 years ago, I worked as a sewing machinist in a factory in glasnevin where Mr. McLean also worked. Always well groomed, he left a lasting impression on me with his kindness and his constant smile. Rip.

I first met Leslie in the early 80s in the eccentric club in Dublin. It could have been named for him. At all times since whenever we met he was always the perfect gentleman and had a bad beat story to tell. So sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to Allen and Stephen and all his extended family. We have loosed him the money for the very last time.

The phrase one of a kind is often used too often ,not where Leslie was concerned .He had heart in all the truest and best senses of the word ,loved by all for who he was and how he was ,the mask never slipped because he was a man of profound love and inestimable character .
The joy he exuded for just being at a table any table winning or losing was unparalleled.
All those that follow and lead in any walk of life would never stop learning from the example of his life .
Tears of sadness and joy well up as I write this and think of him .

So very sad to learn of Leslie's passing. Such fond memories he leaves us behind with. He lived life to the full with that mischievous smile There will be two people in particular who will be delighted to see him for a good old game of poker. We lost a true gentleman.
I can’t express how much joy Leslie brought to me & my family. The hours spent with him in Michigan & Ireland, on the phone and in text will always be treasured. Lovely Leslie was a bundle of energy. A kind, giving, and an articulate man. I’ve lost a piece of my heart. My love goes out to his family and all that had the pleasure of his company.

Leslie. What can I say. I only have fond memories of Leslie at the poker table. He brought excitement, fun, laughter. A very good winner and a very good loser. To the point where one wouldn’t know whether he won or lost. My heart goes out to all of his extended family. In my eyes a great man. Loose me was one of my favorite people.
