I was so sad to hear of Marion's passing and extend heartfelt sympathy to all her loved ones. Although she never taught me I remember Marion firstly as Miss Cronin when the Presentation school first opened in Ballymakenny and then of course as Mrs Matthews and in all my dealings with her I found her to be very pleasant and fair. She was principal when my two daughters attended Ballymakenny and through my involvement with the parents council I got to know her as an adult and appreciated her friendly frank personality and sense of humour. I'll miss bumping into her around Hardmans Gardens.
Rest easy.

I am very sad to hear of Marian's death. I had the wonderful opportunity of working in Presentation School when Marian was principal. She was very supportive and caring in her role. Even as I moved on from the school she always took the time to chat as I see her about. I was very fond of Marian. Sending much sympathy to you Marian's family at this very sad time for you all. I am sorry to be abroad as I would have liked to have been there for funeral liturgy.

As a past pupil of Marian's I was very sad to hear of her passing today. Marian was an amazing teacher of mine back in 6th class, full of energy and enthusiasm and a lovely lady who I always had a little chat with when we bumped into each other down town.
