I knew Marie from the Tidy Towns in Carlow, such a beautiful and gentle lady. Later, we got our little dog Meggie through Marie who had rescued her. May Marie rest in eternal peace. My sincere condolences.

I would like to extend my sympathies to the Walsh family on the sad death of Marie. I first got to know Marie when we set about reviving the Carlow branch of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. Marie was only too willing to get back involved and her commitment to fundraising for Irish Guide Dogs was hugely appreciated. She along with the late Irene Dillon was one of the founders of the branch here in Carlow. Rest in peace Marie.

Very sorry to hear that Marie has died. Sincere sympathy to Bernie, Peter, Ed. and Carmel. Always enjoyed meeting and chatting with Marie, she had great wit and a lovely sense of humour. When St. Vincent de Paul first opened the shop, on Tullow Street, Marie was one of the first volunteers and remained until recently. I enjoyed working with her and she had a kind word for everyone.
