So sorry to hear the news about Martin. I have great memories of him from the Rugby club, I know he will be missed by so many.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Martins passing . I have such fond and happy memories of Martin from our younger days in both Carlow and London. Martin was a gentleman, always in good humour, with a big smile and up for the craic. Bob and himself kept us well entertained in London! He was so generous with his time and showed incredible patience when he coached our team in the rugby club. We certainly were all better off for having Martin as our coach and had great craic with himself and Bob Healy.

As our former coach Jim Lowry told me you didnt always know that Martin was on the pitch but you certainly did when he wasnt.
Such was his quiet but powerful influence doing all the hard unseen work .He never berated his teammates for errors - instead encouraged.

Dear Deirdre, Ross, David, Hannah, Marianne, Helen, Audrey and Alan. It is with a very heavy heart that I sending this condolence. I remember the Dunphy’s moving across the road from us on Laburnum Drive. Martin was always full of fun and devilment and from playing kerb ball to tig there was endless laughs on the road. Every child belonged in every house on the road and times were happy. Martin was everyone’s friend and this was especially evident today with the wonderful display of respect and love for Martin. Martin you have left your beautiful family heartbroken but my prayer is that your family will take comfort knowing that you are now reunited with your lovely parents and catching up with Bob and having fun. Martin may you Rest in Peace safe in the arms of Mary.
