So sad to hear of Martin's passing. My deepest condolences to all his family and wide circle of friends. I had the privilege of knowing Martin through our shared love of music, first as kids many years ago in the Galway Youth Jazz Orchestra and later on as adults playing in various big bands. Martin's love and understanding of jazz music cannot be understated, music was pouring out of him from a really young age and it was lovely to share that passion with him over the years. Always a true gentleman, I had many great chats with Martin and shared many a laugh with him. His attitude and approach to dealing with his illness towards the end of his life is truly inspirational and his legacy will live on as a gentle, funny, musical, swinging, philosophical, compassionate man who touched many people with his wonderful soul. RIP Martin x
