I really miss Dooey with Mary and Leo, i long for the place even I was in Japan. I won’t forget any memories in Dooey. I wanted to see Mary in there sometime but I should’ve done it earlier.
Rest in peace Mary. Thank you for being kind to me all the time. Thank you for making my place comfortable, I was thinking her place is like my home in Ireland.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mary this week. Sadly I was too late finding out the news and missed the funeral. I will always remember Mary as a witty character, full of life & love and always up for a chat and a laugh.

She always wanted you to come in and have the craic while she made the tea. Mary's favourite colours were purple and lilac so if you could all try and wear something with the colours or bright colours, Mary didn't like as she would put it herself 'doom and gloom' you always made us laugh Mary and your still doing it. Mary was one of the kindest and funniest people I have ever met. Donegal has lost its greatest attraction. I met people in any parts of Ireland and Europe who spoke fondly and while smiling about ‘Mad Mary’ in Donegal. She was the reason that countless numbers of people returned year after year to the hostel.She was a very funny and warm second mother for all. My extended family, friends and countless students that visited since 1992 have nothing but loving and funny memories of Mary. A huge loss to her family and to anyone that ever had the pleasure to know her. Going to miss you, Mary. Keep the kettle going in that great hostel in the sky. (Eddie, Loraine and Oscar).
