As one of the founding teachers of Bray School Project NS Mary was a pioneer in education. She helped to create the ethos of our school which still stands strong today.
Many of the current staff were lucky enough to learn from Mary early in their careers and she was so generous in sharing her teaching experience and talents. Her legacy will live long in BSP.

We taught together in BSP and she shared her long teaching experiences with me. She loved teaching and loved to keep up with past pupils and colleagues always remembering birthdays and special events with cards and letters.

Mary McGarry that proud Irish Ulster lady ,has closed her book ,given her last lesson, , taken her last bow and said farewell--leaving this world a poorer emptier place.

I loved writing back to her. She was so generous and we'll always remember going to see U2 in Croke Park, where George and Mary kindly let us stay for the night in Bray. My brother still says to this day that her lasagne was the best he every tasted. Thank you Mary for your kindness, your love and your letters. You'll always hold a special place in our hearts.

We were so pleased to have met Mary and Rory when she came to St.Oliver Plunkett school for the celebrations of 45 great years. We were all so sad when you left Navan for Wicklow. We, as a family, are sad to hear of the passing of Mary. Mary shared a room with our mother whilst they were both receiving care at St.Columcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown.
Mary was so kind and looked out for our mother. Sadly our mother, Lilian Harpur, passed away in 2023.
