My sincere sympathy to all the O’Briens on Mary's passing. I was telling Mum I remember her calling to us regularly in Glanmire after work, and how she kept us connected to you all. My defining memory of her is at the girl’s weddings, her glamour, and most importantly her kindness and interest in us all. Reading the condolences notes, she has left such a wonderful legacy as a sister, aunt, cousin, colleague, and friend. You must be very proud of her.

I first met Mary in the ICU Meath hospital Dublin in 1994 where we worked together for 4 years. We later worked together again in the Mercy hospital Cork. Mary was a professional in every sense of the word, from her appearance and demeanor to how she cared for her patients and colleagues. She was one of a kind. May she now rest in peace.
