while Matt as a teacher in St. Pauls Sec. School took a group of Gaelic players to Clifden to play the local college rugby team .I was the prop and I will never forget the pain I went through in that game . He had a great interest in both basketball and rugby. May his gentle soul rest in peace

To my dear aunt Eilleen and family and the near and extended family words can not express my sorrow for the loss of your dearest Matt. Matt was a Gaint of a man in so many ways, and was one of the most gentle, caring and considerate persons that I have known. He would always ask about everyone and how they were doing. He would always want to talk rugby and how we could do things better and make more progress in every aspect of the club. A true club man and always worked tirelessly for the betterment of the club. I will always associate him with Connemara rugby.
Rest easy now Matt you have played your part. You will be forever fondly rembered.
