I'm sorry to hear about Matt's passing. I only just heard about it yesterday. He was a true Gentleman. I worked with him for many years in the Spiddal plant. I had many a laughs with him.

To Noreen, Kathleen and the boys, I was saddened to hear of Matt’s passing. First met him when he worked on our scientific research teams in the Shellfish Research Laboratory in Carna and on campus in UCG (now University of Galway) and of course more recently, as a neighbour. We often met and chatted while walking in Dangan. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

He was lovely company, a great presence, took a marvellous interest in his people , family and the world about him . He loved the hurling matches!
I’ve such fond memories of Matt .

When I stayed at Uncle Toms in Knockreagh , in my younger days , Matt was enlisted in bringing me to my first dance at Callan hall! I can remember the new hair dryer bought for the occasion!
I can still remember the preparations but most of all Uncle Matt was like a sentry! No one got past him!
My friends from school were kept well at bay , until he had the informal chat with them. !
