We greatly regret having missed the occasion of Mick's funeral and the opportunity to express our most sincere condolences at the time. Mick was not only a friend and mentor for many years but someone with whom it was a great pleasure to work, at Ballyclough, Dairygold and Cork Racecourse. A proud Brosna man, he contributed in a major way to the dairy industry and the co-op movement in Cork and beyond. May he and Carmel rest in peace together and know how fondly they are remembered.

My sincere condolences to Michael's family on his passing. I first met him after Carmel passed away and it was my absolute pleasure to have been able to help him out occasionally. When we chatted over the years he always spoke with great pride about his grandchildren in particular. A lovely gentle family man now reunited with his beloved wife. May he rest in peace.

I am so very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. He was a wonderful person, so full of verve, humour, passion and real life empathy. I had the pleasure of dealing with him in Cork Racecourse for many years, and when he lifted the phone, we could chat for hours. I always enjoyed his conversations, his knowledge and it was remarkable how generous he always was with his time - a businessman and an entrepreneur who was never afraid to have an opinion. He worked the oracle to save racing at Cork, and him and Nancy held the fort in those early years of the rebirth so well. He will be sadly missed. We send our sincere condolences to all Michael's family and friends. May he be welcomed into heaven by his loving wife Carmel who he often spoke of so fondly, as he did his family. May you travel on well Michael, and I hope to see you again some day.
