Michael (Mick) McDonnell

I learned today of Mick's death and wanted to share my deep regret. One of the nicest people I ever met. We played football together at St Mary's FC Sandyford many years ago. Very fond memories of Mick our goalkeeper.

I am so sorry to have heard of Michael's passing I would have attended had I known, Michael was a true gentleman and a great tradesman and did work for our family in Bishop's Lane Kilternan many years ago.

My deepest condolences to the McDonnell family. I am so saddened to hear of Micks passing. He truly was the most kind, gentle, caring and good natured person. Mick had such warmth about him and had a massive impact on both me and my family. He will be sadly missed. Apologies for not being in a position to attend the funeral but we were abroad.

Deirdre, Mícheál, Orla, Niamh and the Mc Donnell family, our deepest condolences at this very difficult and sad time. We have great memories of Mick and enjoyed good chats over cups of tea when he did work on our home many years ago - a great tradesman.
Mick adored his family and got great joy from his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his many friends, especially in Glencullen and Stepaside. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mick's passing. He was a gentleman and always stopped to say hello. He was a huge part of the Stars and Glencullen and will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to Deirdre, Mick Jnr, Orla, Niamh and all of his family.

So sorry to hear of Mick's passing. He was one of life's gentlemen, a wonderful tradesman and a great friend and work mate of our Dad's. We have lovely memories of Mick chatting over a cuppa in our kitchen with our late parents, Gretta and Jim, after the work was done and the end result was always the smoothest walls ever. Ye take care and look after yourselves.

We were so deeply saddened to hear the news of Michael’s passing. Only a short time ago he was filling us in on the book he was writing about the history of Stars, a club he was so deeply passionate about. Even though our family were blow-ins to the area , Michael was always interested in you, where you came from and had a great ability to remember the names of our children and was always very nice to them. He will be missed greatly.
