Is is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Michael or Mick as we knew him. I wish to convey my sincere sympathies to Catherine and family and to the extended Tighe family on his passing. I was not only a former school colleague, Neighbour but also a Garda colleague. As I write this condolence I am listening to Elvis Presley!s recording of .” In the Ghetto”
I have fond memories of Michael’s rendition of this on the yellow school bus on our return from school in St. Mary’s College, Boyle, in the 1960’’s as his strong voice boomed though the bus with complete silence from all on board . Suffice to say he was the quintessential gentleman. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
