Words cannot express my heavy heart at the news of Michaels passing. I found a bit of turf I love in Reenogreena about 7 years ago and had the good fortune of meeting Michael soon after I blew in. As a man he was kind, worked his land, cared for his horses and donkey, spent time with my daughters, and clearly loved his family. He also represented to me that which I love so much about rural West Cork, and for that I was always be grateful.

Rarely in life do you meet someone who touches your soul like Michael did. We are Americans living in Reenogreena but he treated us as we were always neighbors and friends. His horses were our horses. A cup of tea in the kitchen. A tongue wag over the potato patch. Missed but we’re sure where he is. Condolences to his wife Kay and family.
