Michael's sad passing brings back happy memories of our friendship in St Declan's. He got a few of us to join him in Enterprise boxing club, got us to go on trial for Johnville and then helped create a new club called Enterprise United. Enterprise were going to rock the u12 league under his captaincy but Nipper Doyle's casting vote wouldnt allow us join the league unless Heffernan stayed on with Johnville! Michael had no choice but to stay so Enterprise managed to join the league but we were like a bunch of headless chickens without our main man! Always reminisced of those happy days with Michael on the too few occasions we've met since and may his soul rest in peace until we meet again and for long after. Condolences to all his family on your very sad loss.
