I heard of Liam's death with great sadness and with a surge of pleasant memories due to our long association in Marino College. His winning smile and charming softly-spoken manner stand out in my memory. It does not seem possible that such a lovely presence is no more, no more only in this life of course for he is surely resting in eternity now, waiting for the rest of us to catch up with him and bring him the news that he'll already have. It is with great sadness that the current and past management and staff of Marino College learned of the death of our former colleague, Liam Martin. May he rest in peace.

An enthusiastic educational, Liam worked as a teacher and for many years as Director of Adult Education at the college. Under his direction Marino became one of the largest adult Education centres in the city. The many who availed of 'second chance' education owe him a deep debt of gratitude.
Your former colleagues remember you this morning, Liam, for your friendship and support during our years working together.
