Mona Hoban

Sincere sympathy to Mona's family and many friends. Mona was popular and loved by both her colleagues and students. I have very fond memories of chatting to her in the staff room in Largy College and in St. Patrick's when I joined the staff in 1992. She had a wicked sense of humour and was a wonderful conversationalist. She was very proud of her family and will be greatly missed by all. Rest in Peace, Mona.

I am so sorry to hear about the death of Mona and my deepest condolences to Gerry, Jenny, Moira, Conor and all Mona’s extended family and friends. I was lucky enough to meet up with Mona not that long ago when I was working with her wonderful son Gerry and he took me to meet his Mum, whom he adored. As a biology student in Clones we so loved when we could get her to go 'off topic' and tell us stories about the three of you, which she readily did-she was so proud of you. I came to St.Patricks High School in the early 1990s and as a fellow Donegal woman Mona kindly took me under her wing and helped me through my first year teaching in Ireland. She was a woman ahead of her time in so many ways and such a fun person to be around. I have very fond memories of Mona and am grateful to have known her.
