Mons Dan Samuelsson

Mons was a warmly regarded skydiver and instructor at the Irish Parachute Club from the early 2000s for about 15 years. He immersed himself in the club, teaching students, going on foreign trips, participating in various records and also heavily involved in the social side - often staying up till the wee hours. In more recent years, he drifted away from skydiving and seems to have gotten more involved in golf. Going by many of the comments here from his golfing buddies, it seems he was equally well regarded in that circle. He was kind, accomplished and generous with his time. We will miss him but look back on all the memories with fondness.
Apologies I was unable to attend his funeral service. My deep condolences to Freya, Mary, Siv, Malin, Marcus, Telma, Gabriel and the wider family circle.

So sorry to here of Mons passing, a really nice guy with a lovely golf swing, Rest in Peace Mons.

Mons was a true gentleman and always great fun to be around. I had the pleasure of skydiving with him in Ireland, the US and Sweden at the famous "Herc Boogie". He was a key participant in many Irish national skydiving records, and always with a huge smile on his face, both on the ground and in the air.

I wrote the following to Måns by text message a few weeks ago.
"The first time we met was 13 years ago. I was going to meet Pekka's best friend for the first time. I was a little nervous because I really wanted you to think I was okay, that Pekka hadn't met a weirdo! But completely unnecessarily because you were so easy to talk to and I liked your and Pekka's jargon with each other. A little teasing but always with a twinkle in your eye and a concern for each other. Thought Pekka is lucky that he has such a good friend!
Over the years, especially in the summers, we have had wonderful days up in the cottage with good food and drink, lots of laughter, BBQ evenings, pizzas and the occasional "sports drink" with the neighbors in Mölndal. I will also think about my 40th anniversary trip to Dublin where you offered such a wonderful evening with music and Irish river dancing!
Also thinking of the times we visited you in Fågelviken and were down at the pier and swam and drank boiled coffee in the boathouse.
