Noel (Richard) KAVANAGH

We wish to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Noel who passed away after a great life, well lived. He was an authentic patriot and was held in very high esteem by all Republicans who knew him. Noel had a marvellous sense of history and, over the years, was often called upon to speak at important commemorations.

Condolence to all Uncle Noel’s children. Noel was a wonderful man always ready with a wonderful smile and hug. Christmas in Sandymount will always be in my heart and Noel was an integral part of that. RIP sadly predeceased also by his twin Oonagh and brothers Jim Jack and Paddy. All back together now with parents Ellen and Peter. RIP

Sorry indeed to know of the death of Noel. I first met Noel through my work (with Teagasc) in Rural Tourism. But we soon discovered that Noel and my wife - Jennifer Whyte from 'the Glen'- were cousins , so that ensured that our friendship continued. Simply put, 'Noel was a good guy', and when I needed help he did help me , which I greatly appreciate to this day. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Sincere sympathy to all Noel's family on his death.He played an important role in the 1950's Republican campaign in Co .
