We knew it was inevitable but can't imagine Ollie leaving us all. She was an ever present force of laughter, song, mad card games and wit. Every moment at St. Kieran's with her is a treasured memory. Sending our sympathy to Kathleen, Ann, and all the other Hanniffy family members who will certainly miss her. So sad we can't be with you all to celebrate her best times! I remember so well as a child hiding under that long dining table with my little recorder as the Hanniffy clan and multiple friends would sing and roar with laughter well into the night. I only wish I could be recording them all now as they gather together at last for a grand hooley in heaven! Mom (Ethna) and I bid her a fond farewell.

Ollie...a treasure of a woman and a brilliant Vice Principal. She was full of common sense and her advice was very worthwhile.
She was unique in her ability to treat everyone with fairness both staff and students.
I was a recipient of her many kind actions over my years in Scoil Mhuire and she'll never be forgotten for this admirable human trait.

Sincere sympathy to Ollie's family. She was one of the most popular teachers in Scoil Mhuire in the 70's. She taught me Geography with gusto and it was always one of my favourites. She took many groups away to Lough Key Forest Park camping, always on her own time. It was the only holiday I ever had while in secondary school and I was so appreciative to her. So Rest in Peace Ollie. You've so deserved it. What a great imprint you've left on so many of your students and a life long love for Geography.

Sincere sympathy to Miss Hanniffys' family and friends. I have fond memories of her geography classes in Scoil Mhuire in the 60s/70s. She had a warm, engaging, informative way of teaching. She taught practical skills in passing too, the one I remember was when to change gear, she advised 'just listen to the sound the engine makes, Girls, the change in it's sound will tell you when to change, up or down'. Only adult who bothered to do so. May she rest in eternal peace after a life well lived.
