I had the pleasure of meeting Phil a few years ago . My aunt in law Margaret Fahy was a good friend of hers.
She was an inspiration. I shall never forget that afternoon , so on my aunts behalf and my own we extend our deepest sympathy to all of Phil’s family and friends.
Sincere sympathy to members of Phyllis’ family, friends and neighbours. She lived life to the full, using her god given talents for the benefit of her community and many friends. May the Lord reward her for her good deeds.
Rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy
Phyl,
You have been a presence in my family for as long as I can remember. We have several of your wonderful knitted creations, including a full nativity scene with all the characters that we display proudly every Christmas and it has become a much loved addition to the season by my own daughters aged 3 & 1. You were a beloved friend to my late Gran, Nora O’Dea and through her provided us with our first bed for the night in Galway when we moved down from Dublin in 1990. Your house and garden were like something out of a novel to us growing up, populated of course by your cats. Rest in Peace & Love always.
A little out of season I am unwrapping the much - loved nativity set and displaying it this week in your honour Phyllis . Thank you for bringing so much joy and spicey humour to all of us .
Rest in the arms of the Lord

Sincerest condolences to Jackie, Helen and all Phyls great grandchildren and extended families. We were fortunate to have lived as close neighbours of Phyls for many years. We have very fond memories and will treasure them for our entire life. May Phyls gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
Deepest condolences to the family, Phyllis was a lovely lady and had some very interesting stories from the past she used to tell me. I am very great full to have got to know Phyllis and to be able to sit and chat to her. May she rest in peace
Sorry for your loss
We were very saddened to hear of Phyl's passing. We wish to express our deepest sympathies to Jackie, to all the family and to Phyl's many friends and neighbours.

Phyl was a most wonderful and loving lady. She was made of stern stuff; as Ireland's oldest woman and during her long and productive life, she experienced many wonderful and amazing events including two World Wars .

We enjoyed Phyl's many visits to our shop very much - where she was always accompanied by one of her many dear and lovely friends and neighbours. Phyl always entertained us with her great wit and charm, filling the shop with laughter. She showed her great love for her family and friends by the way she chose the very thoughtful gifts that she gave as presents, especially if it was an item that brought a smile to the face as she had a great sense of humour .

We will always remember the lovely gifts that she knitted for us including, on one Christmas, the entire Nativity (the Holy family shepherds, wise men, angels, animals etc...) and, on another Christmas, an entire set of knitted carol singers. Thanks, Phyl.

Phyl was one in a million, we were very happy to have known her; she was a remarkable lady and we were happy and humbled for Phyl to have called us her friends!

Rest in peace, Phyl.

My thoughts go to Jackie and the extended family. An amazing lady, may she rest in peace. ♥️
Heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beautiful grandmother. I have many many happy memories of visiting her home in Oughterard as a child, some of my fondest memories are from time spent there. She was the most wonderful lady. Over the years she gifted me with some of her gorgeous knitting, Snow White and her 7 Dwarves are still played with by my 4yr old daughter. Mrs Furness was a wonderful friend to our family, I feel privileged to have known her. May she Rest in Peace x

Many hours knitting together. Many fun-filled Christmas dinners with Michael, followed by Michael and I making huge, smoky bonfires. Ah...sweet memories, Phyllis, last forever. Night night X
Rest in peace Phyllis and may the sun shine on you forever in your new home in heaven.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. 🙏
Oh Phyl, may you rest in eternal peace now. Such a witty, knowledgeable lady, with a great mind. Many fond memories over the years. May God bless you Phyl.
May God Speed you to his Heavenly Home.
To the family of Phyllis, her funeral can only be a "celebration" of her wonderous long life, 109 years!! Whilst she'll be sorely missed by her family, what joy you'll have in recalling the memories and her stories. May Phyllis rest in peace, well deserved.
Heard her granddaughter's lovely interview on the radio. Lovely poem. What a nice way to remember her.
So sorry Jackie to hear of the passing of your dear Nan .Thinking of you and all your family at this time. May she rest in peace.

Phyllis was a lovely and most interesting lady and neighbour. Although we had only known her since moving to Oughterard in 2019, we immediately began to appreciate her intellect, wit and sense of humour. She always had a welcoming smile and a story. May she rest in God’s eternal light and peace.
I’ve known and loved Phyl for over forty years since she and John arrived in Ireland and dropped anchor on the Glann Road. Many are the wonderful stories and memories from Oughterard and, in the more recent past,Moycullen Nursing Home. She lived through her 109 plus years on her terms, and brought great joy and friendship to many. May she rest and enjoy her eternal reward. God bless you Phyllis.
