It was an honour to work on Eunice's research team over the seventies and eighties as she monitored the integration of women into the paid work force. Other studies focused on the plight of women rendered homeless by domestic violence; women's representation at a higher level within trade unions, and many more....

My sympathies to the McCarthy families - codlad samh di.
Sincere sympathy to Breda and the extended McCarthy family on your sad loss . Eunice contributed so much during her career - may she rest in peace .
Suaimhneas síoraí na bhflaitheas dá hanam agus sólás daoibhse atá croíbhriste ina diaidh. Mar mhac léinn UCD, tháinig mé ar a chuid saothar i Leabharlann James Joyce agus ba léir go raibh sí roimh a ham lena tuiscint ar chearta daonna agus chearta na mban.
My deepest sympathies to all Eunice’s family and friends. I had the pleasure to have been one of her students some 50 years ago now. Memory is imperfect but my recollection is of her arriving into lectures like a whirlwind a few minutes late (but well prepared) and departing late but equally radidly for her next engagement. Eunice had a very warm manner and was always easily approachable and helpful (once one could catch up with her!).
Rest in Peace.
Sincere condolences to Kathryn and all of Professor McCarthy’s family on the passing of Eunice. I have very fond memories of staying with Eunice during our school days in Dublin, where her kindness and generosity always made us feel so welcome. She was a great encouragement to me and played a significant role in inspiring me to study psychology at university, offering thoughtful advice and guidance that I never forgot. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies to Eunice's family. I had the pleasure of being a student of Eunice's in the early days of psychology in Ireland, and later a colleague in UCD. Her interests were wide and expansive, and she made a great contribution to the development of the fledgling discipline of psychology in Ireland. She will be warmly and gratefully remembered by all who knew and learnt from her.
Deepest sympathy to the McCarthy family on Eunice’s sad passing.Eunice made an enormous contribution to academia and will be missed by many.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Deepest Condolences to the McCarthy Family on the passing of Eunice. May she rest in Peace
Eunice was a wonder, full of energy and a great innovator. She taught me as an undergraduate in psychology and later we became colleagues. She was brilliant, with a wide ranging mind that always looked at the bigger picture. She brought gender and women’s rights to the fore back in the 1970s, and was always inspiring. I’ll remember her great conversations and amazing wisdom that was rooted in both modern psychology and deep Irish myth and traditions, and will be grateful for the doors she opened. Condolences to her extended family.
Deepest sympathies to the McCarthy family, relatives & friends of Eunice. I have very fond memories of her in Mount Merrion and at family gatherings. She was an extraordinary lady who left a lasting impression and legacy. Ní bheidh a leithéad ann arís. May she rest in peace.
So sorry to hear of Eunice’s passing- my sincere sympathy to Kathryn and all of Eunice’s family at this sad time.

I had the privilege of being on the Masters taught by Eunice - she brought such an immense depth and breadth of knowledge and a passion for the topic and was a real thought leader and trail blazer of the industry.

May she rest in Peace

Sincere sympathy to Breda and extended McCarthy families on the sad passing of Eunice.......may she rest in peace.
Sincerest sympathy to you, Kathryn, and all your family on the passing of your lovely Aunt. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May Eunice rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy to all Eunice's family and friends. Always professional but very approachable, I have fond memories of her from my time on the Womens Committee of the ICTU.
I was a student of Prof McCarthy in the late 60's / early 70s. It was only later in my professional career that I realised how up-to-date and innovative she was in her teaching.
May she rest in peace.
Kathryn and family I am so sorry to hear of Eunice’s passing. She was a very special lady - way ahead of her time and I feel it was a huge privilege to have known her.
She leaves a wonderful legacy which must be a huge comfort to you all at this sad time.
My sincere sympathy to you and all the extended family - I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. Rest now in a well earned peace Eunice.
I loved the way she synthesised psychology and Irish mythology. I could listen to her for hours as she weaved humanistic concepts with stories of old. One of the founding members of the Psychological Society of Ireland, I was humbled to see her membership number '00030' when she approved my Chartership. She was the matriarch of work and coaching psychology in Ireland, and was passionate about culture and how it should serve to improve peoples lives. Her home was an Aladdin's cave of books and journals, wonderous, and filled with knowledge as was she. It was a privilage to have known her, but with the knowledge she imparted she will live on in all those she inspired. Go raibh maith agat i dtír na mbrionglóidí, a chara.
Sorry for your loss
