Regina (Queenie) Lyons

Sincere condolences on the passing of a great Galwegian. Queenie epitomised so many wonderful qualities. She had a lovely nature and her music enriched our lives. Especially at Mass. I'm sure she was very close to God during life. God has drawn her even closer to Him now. May her memory live long with those who knew and loved her, and may she enjoy a well-deserved Rest in Peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Queenie's passing. I went to piano lessons with her many moons ago and loved every minute of them. Queenie was always so positive and encouraging. Ni bheidh a léithid ann arís. Rest in peace.

Nearly 50 years ago, I sang in the Jes Bunscoil choir, and we were fortunate to have had Queenie as our organist. She was an incredibly warm and friendly lady, with endless patience when working with us. Her kindness left a lasting impression on me and shaped my understanding of the importance of music. She also played beautifully at my late father’s funeral, delivering a magnificent arrangement of 'Queen of the May.'
