Deepest sympathies to Fr Ben’s family and Dominican brothers. He was a true gentleman and a scholar and we were lucky to have him in Tallaght in the 1980s. I still remember a lovely discussion with him about the writings of Kahil Gibran when I included them as reflections in my wedding in St Dominic’s in 1988. He wrote a fascinating chapter on the Christian History of Tallaght for a BTC resource manual for teachers in Tallaght in 1982 and I have a copy of it in my classroom RIP Fr Ben.

Sending sincere condolences to Fr Ben's family and community. I had the privilege of being one of his students in Mater Dei many years ago and his love and knowledge of Scripture instilled a love of the subject for me and lots of others. But far more memorable was his kindness, good humour and sense of fun, which made him a favourite of so many of us. May his gentle soul be at peace in Heaven with God whom he served so faithfully.

Condolences to his family, relatives and Dominican brethren on Ben's death.
Ben was a valued member of the Priory Institute team for many years. He made a significant contribution during the early years, writing the first module text on Scripture. In addition, he lectured on the Institute's theology programmes and was a member of the Academic Council. Ben was one of the most widely-read scholars that I knew. Apart from all that, he was a wonderful priest, a reflective colleague and a great friend.
May Ben rest in peace until we all meet again on the Last Day.
