A wonderful lively lady with a great love for life and music. Always the life of the party, fondly remembered for her rousing ballads and amusing songs in The Lord Edward pub every month, she was unique and will be greatly missed. R.I.P.

I am very sorry to learn of Rio’s passing. I knew Rio as a foster carer. She was a formidable lady who cared deeply. She was a fantastic advocate for children and would do whatever it took to have their voices heard. Rio was full of character and will undoubtedly me missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have ever spent time with her. Deepest sympathies to all her family at this very sad time.

A truly wonderful woman. I met her often during my time in Collinstown Park Community College. She was always absolutely determined to do her very best for those in her care.

I had the pleasure of knowing Rio as a Foster Carer, she has cared for and looked after so many children and young people over the years, Rio would do whatever she could to advocate for the children she cared for. Such a lovely, kind and caring woman. So sad to hear of her passing.
