Bobby was the foundation on which our Phoenix Park running group survived. We ran every Sunday morning almost as far back to when the Wellington Monument was erected. Probably over 100 years ago!
Whenever one of us caused an argument Bobby was the one who calmed us down. What more could we expect from "nature's gentleman" ?

Bobby, myself and our running group were a feature of the Phoenix Park, every Sunday morning. We were running there almost since the Wellington Monument was erected!
We were always very competitive and had great craic and Bobby was the one who "kept the peace" when things got out of hand. He will certainly give all of us a big welcome when we join him in the Heavenly pastures.

Condolences to all of Bobby’s family, so sad to hear of Bobby’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Bobby through the DFB. Then I had the great pleasure of working for Bobby as his apprentice/gopher, I learnt so much from him and had many laughs with him all while under his strict code of never telling any customer where we worked. His appetite for hard work was incredible (in his business world) and I have the fondest memories of those days as he helped me as I was saving for my first house. The importance of his family and his pride in them is a lasting memory I have of the time I spent in Bobby’s company.
A sage and wise man and a truly unique individual who left a mark on me and many others I have no doubt.
