RODNEY THOMPSON

Our sincere sympathies to Pam, Ken and all the Thompson family on the sad passing of Rodney. I had the great privilege to regularly meet Rodney at St. Joseph's and also on his Beach Rd walks.
He always had a smile on his face and a kind word. He wore his faith with great pride and I admired him greatly for that. Alan and I were delighted when he acted as sacristan and altar server on the day of our wedding.
He is greatly missed in the wider parish. I don't doubt he is leaving a positive impression above in Heaven as he did down here with us.
Rest in peace lovely Rodney.

He used to visit my café on his regular visits to Galway and I would always sit down and join him for lunch. He was the kindest man I knew and I always admired his gentle demeanour. I also come from a family of bakers so that was something we had in common. He was very proud of his Cork roots and his family. May you Rest in Peace Rodney, you will be sadly missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Rodney's passing. I met him first on one of his many visits to the Fraternity of Mary Immaculate Queen in Barna, Galway, and over the years he became a very good friend, full of knowledge, wisdom, hospitality, and kindness. I had the privilege of visiting his hermitage in Roundstone on two occasions, before he moved to Clifden, and had great admiration for how deeply and radically he lived his faith. Rodney was such an interesting and humble person, full of faith and kindness, and a wonderful teacher. I have no doubt his blessings will be rich in heaven. Rest in peace, dear Rodney, and my sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
