Sad to hear this news as Sam was a gentleman to all. So patient and helpful in his shops all through the years with a warm welcoming smile and a chat. Fond memories of Sam trading on the Main Street many years ago.When the writer was trading at the “Wilton” all those years ago. Sam was my trading neighbour and every so often I would nip down to Ned while at 4pm Rachel would put on the kettle.Sam would have lovely potatoes for sale ,with a sign “ Balls of Flower “;and mysteriously the sign would be changed to “ bars of soap “ until Sam changed it .A real unassuming gentleman and a great asset to the town .Deepest sympathy is extended to Sams daughter Sarah and indeed all the Gee family and extended family at this sad time in their lives.
