Séamus Ua Trodd

Very sorry to hear of the sad passing of Séamus. I met him on trips to Goodison Park with the Irish Toffee's, to support Everton. He was a True Blue and delighted to meet fellow Blues from Offaly. He had lots of stories about Everton and his own Club Everton.

My sympathies to Seamus's family and friends. I first knew him, when I played for a season with Club Everton and more recently I would meet him for a chat in Kilbarrack.

He was a gentleman, sports fan, read the newspapers and was very knowledgeable on soccer and athletics. He contributed a lot of good. Ar Dheis De go bhfuil a anam dilis.

We're very sad about Seamus's passing. He was a lovely and friendly man, a gifted story teller & fantastic poet. His love of Everton was one of great amusement in our house with mam being a Liverpool fan but the laughs were real. He was quick with a joke and loved to join in on the slagging. He'll be missed at our Christmas dinner table. Rest In Peace Seamus 💙

Great memories of playing with Club Everton in the 80s. Shay always on the sidelines with the oranges for the half time and his words of encouragement. Win lose or draw we found our way back to The Beachcomber or The Pebble Beach where Shay would join us for his coffee and biscuits. His great organisation skills kept the club going from organising table quizzes and other fundraising events.

Sincere condolences to the Ua Trodd family on Seamus's passing. I first met Seamus in 1973 just after the founding of Club Everton Atha Cliath. I spent the next 10 years in his company eating and sleeping nothing but football and it was a wonderful period in my lifetime being in his company. He was the most committed Secretary I ever knew. The trips he organised to Merseyside will forever stay in my memory. He had a vast knowledge of soccer and athletics and we spent endless hours discussing football and of course drinking copious amounts of his favourite drink coffee. Rest in peace Seamus 🙏
