A short note to offer my condolences to Johnathan and all the Loughran family at that this sad time with the passing of Sean.

May he rest in peace.
Condolences to Willie, Jonathan, Deborah and Dave. I have fond memories of Sean bringing us out to Kilmainaham and other cultural hotspots of a Sunday. And him teaching me bits of guitar. Also outraged he booed Dylan for playing electric in 66 but amazed he was there :). Very cool Dad.
I have so many memories growing up as a kid next door to Sean, and Catherine (Mr.& Mrs Loughran back in those days).

The joy and happiness that that house shared with many people will not be forgotten.

In recent times I got to know Sean more, and I really hoped he would be with us longer, but I think the draw of his one true love for him was too strong.

May he rest in peace. Thank you for the joy you spread to many. Give Catherine a kiss from us all.

Be strong Jonathan, Deborah, William and David, you truly are standing on the shoulders of giants.

Shane, Sam,Joseph, Devan (ex-Castleknock) London

Sincere sympathy to the extended Loughran family on the death of Seán, a remarkable, kind, and gentle person who played an important role in the ballad boom of the 1960s. I am proud to have known him when he was a young piper in the Fintan Lalor Pipe Band, where his father was a committee member. Later, I was privileged to play with him and his brother in the Abbey Tavern and saw first-hand his singing talent over a number of years. It was there that he met his beloved Catherine.
Despite his fame with the Ludlows, he was always modest and good-humoured. A devoted family man, widely respected, Seán was universally loved and admired by all who met him. He will be greatly missed by the wider musical community.

My deepest sympathy to the Loughran family Catherine was our bridesmaid so many happy memories i regret i am too ill to attend but my thoughts and prayers are with you all
So sorry to hear about Sean. He was such a lovely man and gifted musician.

For many years he sang with our dad Leslie McCauley in the DWMVC. They also sang is a smaller group too along with our uncle Harry Deegan and others.

We remember many great parties over the years when the guitars would come out and the signing would go long into the night.

Dad sadly died this week too. The heavenly choir has gained two wonderful singers.

Thinking and praying for you all.

May Sean rest in peace.
Deepest Sympathy to you Willie and all your family on the passing of your beloved father Sean.

Deepest condolences to Sean's family at this sad time. RIP Sean with your beloved wife Catherine
Very sorry to hear of Sean's passing. May he rest in peace. Condolences to all the family.
Such sad news ! Sean was a talented and kind hearted gentleman and musician. One shouldn’t perhaps have favourites but in the context of 30 years shared membership of the Dublin Welsh MVC , Sean was without doubt my favourite Dublin Welsher ! The big trips to USA/Canada/ France were great but even more memorable were the informal 2day gatherings in small rural pubs in Borris , Leighlinbridge etc - Sean on the acoustic guitar- so quiet and modest - never to be forgotten.
Sincere condolences to Sean’s extended family. It was such a privilege to have known him. Rest easy Sean. Conor/ Justine Agnew.
Condolences to Willie and the family on the passing of Sean. May he RIP..
Deepest condolences to Jonny & Michelle and all Sean’s children and treasured grandchildren
Timmy and Phoenix on the loss of Sean. May his soul rest now and be reunited with Catherine in her arms

May he rest in peace and his memory live on in all who loved him! ❤️
