I only met Seán in the last few years and feel I was privileged to have had that honour…Rest well beyond the Stone Walls and Circles Seán…Condolences to his Family and Friends.
Very fond memories of Seán from our days in the Sirius Arts Centre. Peggy Sue’s beautiful words greatly outshine any I could muster. Rest in Peace, Seán. It was a pleasure.
Condolences to Seans friends and family. I have many happy memories of adventures with Sean. I learned about irish prehistory from our forays into the country whenever we had wheels. We shared many lovely gastronomic experiences. He was generous in sharing his knowledge and experience. We collaborated on an artwork in Triskel arts centre. I feel privileged to have met him and grateful for all I learnt from him.
RIP Sean, you were a pleasure to know and work with also you were a great cook.
I will miss your humour.

I send sincere condolences to the family and many friends of Sean. Long ago, just before he left Canada for his heart-place, Ireland, I was lucky enough to interview Sean for the Canadian publication Quill& Quire. I remember his quick wit, generosity, and admirable honesty about himself and others. What a 'character'!! His award-winning books for children will let his joy of writing and entertaining linger for generations. Fare thee well, Sean.
RIP condolences to family and friends
A wonderful poet may Sean rest in peace and his legacy live on forever.
May his brilliance reach through for generations to come. Rip 🙏

Farewell Poet.
Sean changed my life, he was introduced to me by a mutual friend and, at his suggestion, I applied to the Artist in Residency programme at Sirius Arts Centre. The day before my exhibition opened there I was offered the job of running the centre which continued for over a decade, setting me on a life path I never could have imagined.
Sean was unique person, a visionary writer, full of imagination, he had a biting wit, was endlessly curious, and cared very deeply about the community in Cobh. Sean invited world class writers to Sirius andCobh. He facilitated the Artist Marie Brett on her first community collaborative work with families in Cobh, which was the start of a magnificent journey which she continues on. Sean brought the writer Annie Proulx to Cobh, and as part of her fee he spent days driving her all around the area taking her to restaurants and telling her about local history. Through Sean I met Irish Writer, Claire Keegan and the late Ken Bruen and many, many others, he also contributed a lot of his energies to the Great Island Writers Group in the early 2000's.
I will forever be grateful to Sean his invitation to apply to Sirius, I'm sure a lot of the work he did for the community of Cobh they weren't aware of but he made a difference. Sean O'Huigin was one of a kind, he will be grately missed. I hope his passing was gentle and that his spirt is filled with light and free of pain.
