I only became aware of Sib's passing today. I was in contact with Sib over various issues in the1970, 1980 & 1990's & he was always more than helpful. He did a lot for the community that people would not even be aware of & never looked for anything in return. We could do with more people like Sib.

On behalf of the Callaghan family Vincent Maureen Anne and Betty formally of Rosmeen I wish to offer our condolences to all the Rooney family on the sad loss of their father. As a child growing up in Rosmeen I remember Rooney’s so well. Sib would call to our home on a regular basis to visit my father Paddy Callaghan. They would talk politics all the time.. They were great neighbours and friends to my parents. I’m sorry I missed funeral. May SIb RIP with his lovely wife Lily.
