Dear Alan,

We were deeply saddened to hear of Sile’s passing. She fought so incredibly hard to stay with the people she loved, and her strength was truly inspiring.

Sile was the very first cousin I reached out to twenty-five years ago, and I will never forget her kindness. She was so generous with her time and offered such wonderful hospitality whenever we visited. We will especially miss her beautiful emails; they were a lifeline of information that kept the Canadian cousins so closely tied to our Irish heritage.

She was the bridge between our families, and we will miss her dearly. Sending our deepest condolences and much love to you.

So very sorry Alan on the death of your beloved Síle. Your care for her in recent times was an inspiration.
I was fortunate to have known her for years as a dedicated and talented teaching colleague.
She had the courage and conviction to become one of the first teachers to 'vote with their feet' to commit to what has become the phenomonally successful Educate Together 'movement' along with Jayne Doran and the late Florrie Armstrong.
It was always a pleasure to bump into both of you at so many events connected especially with with Literature and the Arts.
Dalkey Library was a favourite haunt of hers where she seemed to borrow books by the dozen!
