Deepest sympathies to the Casey family, to the Sisters of Mercy in Loughrea, Sisters of the Western Province and her many friends.
I had the privilege of meeting Sr Bosco in her later retired years and she continued to be an inspiration. Her dedication to and enthusiasm for life and for sport in particular knew no bounds. We played many friendly volleyball matches against the girls in St Ita's but they were never "friendly" matches as Sr Bosco encouraged each and every player to put heart and soul into every pass, every serve. After the matches she ensured there were snacks for everyone and homemade scones from the convent for the travelling coaches!
She has left such an impression on the next generation of students and teachers.
May Sr Bosco rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of the wonderful Sr.Bosco. My sincere sympathies to the Casey family and the Sisters of Mercy Loughrea.
Sr Bosco was a powerful lady, full of energy and life and drive. Only for her I would never have had the privilege to have been in the school band or had a love for volleyball all through my school years in St Raphaels not to forget the community games . She gave her time willingly, band practice every Saturday morning followed by volleyball in the afternoon, I have very fond memories of marching in many parades to the sound of "Oh when the Saints go Marching in", to playing in colleges schools All Irelands and our trips to Mosney.
Sr Bosco loved all things sport. She loved competition and one of her best traits was she didnt like to lose, especially when she knew we were good enough to win. She would always drive yo to be the best you could be, be it in education or sport.
It was always lovely to meet herself and Sr De Sales after I left school and talk about times gone by with fun and laughter. You usually didnt see one without the other.
Rest in peace Sr Bosco

What a woman, Sr Bosco left an incredible legacy. She taught us in primary school Portumna & was principal there, however her true gift was in building community, passing on the values of equality, social justice & love for people & the world around us. Through the volleyball, the marching band, the Christmas concerts she passed on her passion for inclusivity, team work & solidarity. Her unwavering belief of the potential in all of us to be greater than we know was a rare gift. She laughed with us, she gave out to us, she told us we could do anything if we had a mind to. She toured the country with us, bringing us to All Ireland finals in Community games & Youth clubs. We lead parades & stood on podiums. We received accolades from the town, with bonfires lighting and flags waving & in all she taught us humility, never once seeking recognition for her input, time or guidance.
I had occasion to see her a few times through the years & visited her last year in St Brendan’s where you guessed it she was watching & calling to Limerick in the hurling! An amazing woman whom I will always feel privileged & grateful to have known. So sad she is gone from us now. Rest in peace dear Sr. Bosco & thank you for all you gave & your wonderful legacy.

Our sincere sympathy to Sisters of Mercy and the Casey family on the passing of Sr. Bosco. Lovely memories of meeting her when we were visiting Sr. Martha. May she rest in peace.
Deepest condolences to the Casey family on the passing of Sr. Bosco.
Sr. Bosco was an important and well-loved member of the Loughrea community, and she embedded herself fully into the life of the town and across South Galway. She dedicated herself to sporting excellence - from volleyball to camogie - promoting the Community Games, running the school marching band, teaching in St. Ita's and she carried out a multitude of quiet good works behind the scenes. Her legacy continues to this day.
Bosco was a woman who said it out straight, a no-nonsense lady who was fearless. She was an entrepreneurial soul, who inspired hard work and commitment. Even after I grew up, left home and got married, she remained a source of pragmatic and earthy friendship, and our friendship grew particularly after I moved to her beloved Limerick, calling in to see us on her visits home.
She was among the first to arrive at our door the day Mammy died to see what she could do to help us, and I will never forget her. An earnest woman of deep integrity.
May Bosco rest in peace. She has more than earned her place in Heaven.
