My condolences to the Mercy Sisters and Sr Carmel’s family. I commenced my 47 year career in St Gerards Ward of the then Regional Hospital. Fond memories of my first placement and subsequent placements through my training. She practiced excellence and inspired excellence in all of us. May 1972 group.

Sincere Sympathy to all of Sister Carmel’s family & Community of the Mercy Sisters. Sr Carmel was a Wonderful working colleague & Frirnd with my Mother (Teresa). She is remembered fondly by our Whole family. May they both rest in Heavenly Peace.

Heartfelt condolences to the Hely families and to the sisters of mercy in Galway city on the very sad passing of Sr. Carmel. She was an outstanding member of the community. Always so caring, helpful and hardworking.
It is many a meal that both Celia and i cooked at the convent in UHG and I have such fond memories of all of the sisters that were there at that time notwithstanding Sr. Carmel and her beautiful,selfless, highly enthusiastic, energetic, and organised ways. She was quiet simply fun to be with.
May god reward her for her dedication and hard work. Rip XX

I watched Sr Carmel's funeral mass today. A really well deserved celebration for an amazing lady. St Gerard's was my first ward placement. Sr Carmel was so kind to her patients and staff. I learned so much from her.which I'm grateful for. May you Sr Carmel rest in peace with the lord.
