I will always remember the kindness Sister Stella showed me as a child and again as a young adult. The world needs more people with big hearts just like Sister Stella's. Rest in peace. 🤍

Aunty Shelia was the best of us, she was so very very special and had such a wonderful connection with our children, her great grand niece and nephew and I can only imagine how much she meant to all of the young people she helped and inspired through her teaching. We’ll all miss her so much.

So Sorry to learn of the sad passing of Sr. Stella Herlihy. She was a Member of a very prominent, much respected and very popular Kinsale Family. Sheila loved all her Nephews & Nieces and took a great interest in the affairs of her native town. She always thoroughly enjoyed the holidays she spent in the Glen.

To us, she was our Aunty Sheila. She was actually our parent's aunt but what an amazing amazing woman. The RIP condolences above already tell the story of an amazing teacher and principal who cared about the less fortunate students most, who worked for the homeless, Vincent de Paul, a cancer foundation, elderly friendship orgs, loads of community work and endless messages of her gentleness and her joyful demeanor, her musicality and her deep sense of justice and empathy for the poorest and most traumatised in the community.
All this on top of the Aunty Sheila we knew. Who, among an O'Donovan family grouping of almost 100, remembered every single one of us, our kid's names and stories, every holiday, our life events, birthdays, triumphs and sadnesses.
Truly a gentle and unsung legend and a love of our lives.
From all your O'Donovan great and great great nieces and nephews, Aunty Sheila, we will miss you forever 🌈❤️❤️❤️
