Stephen was such a beautiful soul, I always cherished our chats. We could talk about hiking for hours… he had the longest legs in all of Ireland, and trying to keep up with him on the mountains was nearly impossible. He’ll be deeply missed. 🏔 My condolences to all the family.
Thinking of you Jason and Matthew and your families at this sad time. Your mum and dad were lovely people who made a difference. My sincere sympathies, Mary Brooke-Tyrrell
Sincere condolences on the loss of Stephen, may his kind soul Rest in Peace. Fondly remembering Linda at this sad time also.
Jason & Matthew and all the family, I was so very sorry to hear of Stephen’s death. He was a wonderfully warm and generous man, always willing to help and do what he could in any situation. I have many great memories of him and your dear Mum Linda over the years of Greystones CSSM. Sending love at this time and praying that your faith in Jesus will bring great comfort as you grieve.
Sorry to hear of your loss.

Steve was one of my first Greystones friends more than 40 years ago and I stayed in his family home many times. He was everything a human being could be, immensely warm, funny, crazy and kind. It was impossible when you were with him not to love his love of life and his love of God. And impossible not to feel loved by him. It was a joy always to bump into him and to be enveloped in one of his wonderful bear hugs. He was truly special. I feel blessed to have known him but so sad that he has gone from us so soon. My deepest condolences to Jason and Matthew and his grandchildren.
To Jason, Matthew, Ron and Gill. Ken and I were shocked to hear of Stephen's sudden passing. We had the privilege and pleasure of getting to know Stephen and Linda through the 'Emmaus Walk'. What a beautiful and Godly couple! We can only imagine the amazing welcome he has received in his heavenly home! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!! May you know God's special comfort at this difficult time.
Sincere sympathies to Jason, so sorry on the loss of your father. May god comfort you and your family at this time.
I'm so sorry to hear of Steves passing. He was one of a kind and I have so many fond memories from him with the youth club or in silver strand on summer holidays. He was always so full of fun and made everyone feel at home.
My deepest condolences to the Barrington family. Rest in peace Stephen.
It is so sad to hear this. We both worked with Stephen in Mentec. He was a true gentleman who always went out of his way to help and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Deepest condolences to his family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Dear Jason and Matthew.
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember well the first time I encountered Steve, he was bounding down the spiral attic stairs of Marine House where Online was located in Glasthuale, he may well have been taking the steps two at a time! The last time I meet up with Stephen was on the occasion of his retirement in August, the same Stevie, full of energy and this time being excited and hopeful about his new adventures whilst regailing us about all that he had achieved in the last set of travels. He was looking forward so much to his new trip, talked lovingly about his two sons, daughter in laws and life as a grandad, something that filled him with happiness.
There has been a long working life in between those two encounters, Online, Mentec and beyond. As a group wherever we ended up there was great comradry and great Stephen. He will be missed on so many levels. He will be remembered with great fondness, joy at having known him and delight in his o so many adventures. Rest in peace Stevie.

He will be deeply missed. My deepest condolences. Rest In Peace.

My heart hurt to hear this news. Steve was such a genuine soul. He personified fun and adventure and was one of the kindest people I’ve met. He will be dearly missed, just as his lovely wife Linda is.

Really sorry to hear of Stephen's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him many years ago in Online Computing. A great character, highly intelligent, humble, and more importantly, one of the nice guys. May he rest in peace.

Such a kind gentleman. Condolences to Stephens family on this huge loss.
Stephen was a wonderful, spirited colleague. I am deeply saddened by the loss of this wonderful person.
He was a truly a loving and warm presence, someone who filled every space with laughter, joy and a spirit of adventure. His kindness touched everyone around him.
Though he is no longer with us, the memories of his laughter, his warmth, and boundless energy on the dancefloor will remain in our hearts forever.
May he find comfort in knowing that his legacy of love and joy continues to live on in all of us.

My condolences to Stephen’s family at this sad time.
Stephen was a wonderful colleague and an absolute asset to mhance. He was loved by everyone, always making people feel welcome and part of the family. He will be greatly missed, and our social events will never be the same — he was always the first on the dance floor and the last to leave, always starting the night with one of his legendary bear hugs.
I’m so sorry that you didn’t get to fulfil your retirement adventure, Stephen, but what an incredible amount of joy, laughter, and fun you packed in along the way

So very shocked and sad to hear this news. Sending our deepest sympathy and love to Gill, Ron and all the family.
Although I only met Stephen in July of 2024 and I live across the ocean, he and I became close friends instantly. His encouraging words, his listening ear and the fun adventures will be missed more than words can tell. He was Homesick for Heaven, so now he's finally home. I'm praying for the family members and other friends as we grieve this loss.
May Stephen rest in peace. He was everpresent in supporting the community in Greystones and was also great to work with. Best wishes to all the family.
Deepest sympathies to all of the Barrington family at this sad time. May Stephen rest in gentle peace. John Flynn and family.
Dear Jason, Matthew and family,
I am so sorry for your loss.
I was so saddened to hear of Stephen’s passing. I had the privilege of working with him for over twenty years, and I always loved when he came into Brennans — he lifted everyone’s spirits the moment he walked in. Over time he became not just a colleague but a friend, and during very difficult moments in my own life, his kindness, ministry and gentle words helped me more than he ever knew.
When your mother Linda passed away, he carried his grief with such dignity.
It was wonderful to see him embrace retirement with real joy, and I was delighted to touch base with him recently about his plans for New Zealand and how we would meet up when he returned. It’s hard to believe that day won’t come.
Stephen will be sorely missed. His faith, warmth and compassion touched so many lives. My deepest sympathy to you all at this heartbreaking time.
I know his faith was so important to him and May he rest in Eternal Peace.

Thinking of you all with sadness and joy for Stephen at this time.
My sincere condolences to Stephen's family and friends on his passing may he rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of working with Stephen at mhance for 6 years. Stephen lit up every room he was in, and was a true gentleman. He brought such light and fun to the workplace, and had such a caring and gentle manner that I always looked forward to speaking with him. My favourite memory will always be of him dancing away at one of our Christmas parties, balloons in hand and the biggest of smiles. If the world had more Stephen's, we'd be truly better off.
My sincere condolences to all of Stephen's family and friends. You will be so missed, Rest In Peace Stephen

Sincere and deepest condolences to Stephen's family and friends.
Stephen was the real deal, he didn't just talk the talk. Every time I spoke
with him I came away with the uneasy feeling that I should be more like
him and less like me.

My deepest condolences to Stephen's family. I knew him through 'the Emmaus walk'; - he was an exceptional person. So kind and caring. He made people feel they really mattered. Most of all he modelled how to be the best disciple of his Lord Jesus.
Very sorry to hear the sad news of Stephen’s passing. Thinking of you all at this time.

I was a work colleague of Stephens until his retirement just a few weeks ago. Stephen was probably the kindest, most generous man I’ve ever met. He never had a bad word to say about anyone but was always positive, helpful and encouraging, if a little loud in our small office at times :) It is heartbreaking that he should be taken just as he was excitedly embarking on the next chapter of his life, despite the trials life had thrown at him in recent years. Deepest condolences to his family and friends on your loss.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Stephen’s passing. I worked with Stephen for many years through MHance. He was a wonderful person, and it was an absolute pleasure working with him. Sincere condolences to the Barrington family. May he rest in peace.

I've just read Stephen's tribute to his wife Linda when she passed away and I was in tears with the most loving and honest account of their lives together, I've no doubt that they are both reunited in The Lords own house forever.
Rest peacefully Stephen.

To Gill, Ron, Jason, Matthew & their families we will be remembering you in our prayers and thoughts. He is now in the place where happiness abounds.
My deepest condolences to the Barrington family and Stephens wider family and friends. My heart sunk to hear of the passing of Stephen. I had the pleasure of knowing Stephen for the past 20 years as our accounts software developer. Stephen was unique in is approach and ability to provide a solution but above all he always showed the greatest respect and interest in everyone. He truly was one of lifes greatest gentlemen. I hope he is at peace and reunited with Linda. Rest in peace Stephen.
I was so deeply saddened to hear of Steve’s sudden passing. He was one of a kind. I have wonderful childhood memories of caravan holidays spent with our families. My thoughts are with Jason, Matt and the whole Barrington family. May he rest in peace.

Jason and Matthew, Noemi and Mandy and the wider Barrington families -I am so incredibly sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. May he and your wonderful mam be finally be reunited in harmony. Sending you all love and strength as you navigate this time of grief. May he rest in eternal peace.
So sorry to hear about Stephen. He was a work colleague and a lovely guy.
We are shocked! The English language lacks sentences to describe Stephen's sunny nature and cheerful disposition. A true Christian gentleman. Our deepest sympathy to the family circle.
I was really saddened to hear this heart breaking news. I have very fond memories of visiting Eric, Ruth and Stephen in their home many years ago when I was only about 15 years old. Your Club and CSSM days spring to mind over the years and a memorable pony trek up the side of sugar loaf where we both talked for ages sitting in the heather. Stephen and Linda were such a lovely couple and their boys have been through so much with the loss of their beautiful Mum and now their adventurous Dad Stephen. It's amazing that he was doing the thing he loved and although so hear breaking and tragic, quite beautiful that he died in his sleep. No doubt he and Linda are rejoicing with new found energy and life in a heaven that none of us can really even fathom... no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can every concieve of what God has prepared for those who love him... Stephen sees it now. Amazing!
