So sorry to hear the sad news of Mr. Cassidy's passing. I was a pupil of Mr. Cassidy in St. Davids, Artane (1972 to 1974, 4th & 5th class). I can still remember the musical show - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the stage play - Toad of Toad Hall, both of which he directed and encouraged our class to participate. He was a great teacher and an inspiration.

Sylvester was a wonderful human being. He was engaging, witty, generous with advice and humble to a fault. So sad to hear of the passing of Sylvester. Sincere sympathy to Marie and all the Cassidy family. I have fond memories of my Primary school days in Barnaderg N.S where Sylvester taught me for 3 years. He was an inspiring educator, creative, kind and so much of what I have learnt has stayed with me the Calligraphy handwriting, computer typing, Irish songs learnt at Choir, German words through the Comenius programme to name but a few. May he rest in peace.
