Sincere condolences to Ann and family on the passing of the lovely Tom. He helped me greatly with renovating my first house in Kimmage. I loved to hear his stories about sailing in Greece with his pals, and his love for his family and delight in his grandchildren was clear. He always had a twinkle in his eye, and showed great kindness and humor.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. He was an absolute gentleman to us when I lived in Dartmouth Road, always there to help and have a laugh. My sincere sympathies to all the Tonge family, may he rest peacefully.

R.I.P lovely Tom. Such a kind, sensitive man with a huge heart who has been a great friend to our Dad. You don’t meet many like Tom in life as he left a mark with everyone he met and you could talk to him about anything. He was a legend and a true gentleman. Love to Ann and all his kids who he was immensely proud of. I will miss him, his songs, his stories and that wonderful smile.

We were all saddened to hear the news about Tom. Tom was a great friend of our Dad and they shared many great experiences together from sailing trips, fly-fishing, collecting for the VdeP, visits to Twickenham to watch the rugby to the occasional reflective pint or two in O' Brien's in Dublin, Garavan's in Galway or Varley's in Headford. Always a gent with a story to tell and a song to sing, Tom will be greatly missed but his memory will be enjoyed by many. Condolences to Anne and the family.

Dear Ann,

We are so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was such a lovely man, and we have so many fond memories of the craic and the chats we all had with Tom over the years in O'Briens. We will never forget the party Mum and Dad had, "come as a drink" and Tom arrived as Mr. Sandeman Port. What a costume and of course, he won first prize!

We would like to think he's up there now with Mum and Dad, having a few drinks and looking down on us all with that warm smile of his.
