You’re still alive in my heart, RIP my good friend
Sincere Sympathy to Tom's extended family. I met Tom many years ago in Brooks Thomas and as many have said, Tom was an inspirational business man--together with being kind, friendly and an absolute gentleman. May Tom Rest in Peace.
Hey Oonagh
So Sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Dad Thomas.
I remember you spoke very highly about your Dad during our time at Dimension, many moons ago.
Vince (Murphy) xx Renvyle Connemara
My sincere condolences on the death of Tom, RIP, of which I have only learned today. I remember Tom with great affection, particularly from my days in the Confederation of Irish Industry [now Ibec] 1979-1993. Tom made many magnificent contributions to Irish life, and his memory and legacy will live on. I am confident that he now enjoys the life eternal for evermore.
On behalf of Pina and myself, our daughter Kyla, Pina's parents Tony and Rosa Ciotoli, we wish to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Toner. We were blessed to have met Tom. He was always an integral part of our trips to Ireland, visiting David and Rose. For many people, going to Ireland is a bucket list item. Indeed when I went on my own with a friend for the first time many years ago, it was a bucket list moment. Then years later, with the love of my life, I was blessed with a very different Irish experience. Pina and I were gifted the love of our Irish family, Tom, David, Rose, and all the pups thru the years (shout out to Buster). Tom was always very welcoming and generous opening up his home to us. He was sure to check in and see that we were visiting the natural beauty of this blessed island, but more importantly to us, our visits included a chance to eat with Tom and share the pleasure and company of his spirited discourse and family stories. This will always and forever be a part of our trips when we visit David and Rose. Mr. Toner will carry on in our thoughts and table side conversations. We will hold him dearly in our heart whether we be here, there, near, or far. Sending hugs to David and Rose (and Gilly) and our prayers to the Toner family, extended family, and friends.
I'm Paddy Conneely from Suncroft GAA club.I have fond memories of your dad coming to join us in 1989 for our club's centenary celebrations in the Hazel Hotel in Monasterevin and his very generous donation to the club.I offer you my condolences at this sad time Paddy
Sincere condolences to the Toner family of Tom’s sad passing. Tom was great company and a gentleman to the core.
A Kildare GAA fanatic, he was a very generous supporter over the years.
Tom may have been small in stature but to the Rafferty family growing up he was and remained a giant of a man. Tom together with my father, Martin Rafferty, and John Harnett were partners in business during the best and for a long period the worst of times. Tom told me that during those tumultuous years never was a bad word said between them. Tom, John and Dad were blessed to be married to three extraordinary women, albeit all very different in character. Dad would later say that Audrey, Nuala and my mother Betty were an equal part of the success that their three husbands enjoyed, shouldering family and domestic duties alone while they righted the BWG ship. I offer my sincerest condolences to all the Toner family
Tom was a great friend of my late father, Dessie Hynes. I loved meeting Tom. I would always leave feeling positive and upbeat. He was a great man. Im glad I knew him. My condolences to the Toner family.
Sincere condolences to Kevin, Oonagh, David and Alan on the the passing of your father our deepest sympathies are with you at this time
Sincere condolences to Tom’s family and friends. In addition to his many leadership roles in business in Ireland, Tom was very committed to public service and contributed greatly to industrial policy development during his career. I was privileged to see Tom’s passion and leadership across a range of policy areas when he served as the first Chairman of Forfás from 1994, the Government’s advisory body for enterprise, trade, science, technology and innovation.

To all the family; I had the pleasure of meeting Tom firstly with my sailing buddy, and one of his best and longest friends, Ricard Hopper. Thank you Richard RIP for another gift. Richard was a huge admiral of Tom and would have been embarassed at the mention today. I also spent time with Tom in South Africa. He was terrific company. Always inquisitive, always learning. A prince. Thank you Tom, and I loved the piece from “The Dead” rounding out the celebration of your wonderful life today. I also delighted in Alan’s description of your early life, you were always proud of how far you came and your admiration of the real founding fathers of this young republic. And how far we have all come. Thank you for your friendship. Brían and Heather.
I was saddened to learn of Tom’s death. He was a thoughtful, wise and engaging public figure who demonstrated that sectoral leadership does not require a partisan outlook nor constrain a commitment to public service, as demonstrated by his major contribution to the work of the NESC. May he rest in peace.
My sympathies to all of Tom's family. Growing up in Leopardstown I played table tennis with Kevin in their garage, I remember when Tom bought a wine coloured Saab 900, explaining to us how the engine was controlled by a micro chip. An absolute gentleman, may you rest in peace, Tom.
Sincere condolences to Tom’s children Kevin,Oonagh,David and Alan and their partners,to Tom’s sister Sue and to the wider Toner family on the passing of Tom.
Tom was a businessman of the highest calibre who made an extraordinary contribution to a host of companies that he either started or of which he became a Board member or Board Chairman.
In doing so he lent a sterling shoulder to Ireland’s economic development.
He was a man incisive and direct in approach at meetings and otherwise. His wise counsel was much sought after - not only in business but in the public sector where he was a valued member of the Councils of NESC and ESRI . He was an outstanding Chairman of Forfás ,the former Government Advisory Organisation on Industrial and Science Policy.
Tom Toner had a deep kindness towards people at every level .He offered a friendship that was cherished by those of us fortunate enough to experience it.
May Tom rest in eternal peace with his beloved wife Audre.
My condolences to the family.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have been Tom’s neighbours. Tom Tom (as Remi always called you) We cherished our conversations with him about life, women in business, Ireland through the years and travelling. Tom had a unique way of bringing warmth and insight to every chat and was so dapper, curious, and full of fun. It was a joy to walk out of the house and see him strolling by, always with a smile and ready for chats. Our thoughts are very much with his wonderful family and grandchildren at this difficult time. We’re thinking of you all.
Sincere condolences to Tom's family at this sad time.

Tom was a great mentor to me and someone I learned so much from. I always enjoyed listening to his stories of business, travel, politics and above all sport.
