On behalf of the Tipperary branch of BitdWatch Ireland, I would like to express our sincere sympathy to Nuala and her family. Tim was a legend in birdwatching circles in Tipperary before he moved to Galway. He passed on his knowledge to so many people around Thurles and Templemore. We always looked forward to meeting Tim and Nuala in Ballyvaughan during our bus trips to the Burren.

I am so sorry to hear of Tim’s passing - my sympathy to you Nuala and to all his family. Tim’s enthusiasm for birdwatching and for the natural world was a delight to see and he was so generous with his time to bring his knowledge to others.

Our sincere condolences to you Nuala and extended family, on the sad passing of Tim. Over many years we had the pleasure of your company at Cabragh Wetlands, Ashton's Callows or the Burren and many Birdwatch events. What a knowledge Tim had! I remember the many stories he recounted about birdwatching outings. He was a true gentleman with a lovely friendly personality. May the many memories you shared together be a comfort to you at this sad time. You were his Anam Cara. Peace to his gentle soul. PS It was only today, 28th Jan., that I learned of Tim's death RIP.

So very sorry to hear the sad news of Tim's passing. I have very fond memories of being allowed as a child to see Tim's amazing collection of eggs, birds and other wonders so carefully preserved and displayed in his home next door to us on the Roscrea Road. Listening to tales of his travels and adventures around the world was a privilege. We are thinking of you and the extended family Nuala. May he rest in peace

Tim was a customer of ours of very long standing and he was almost as big an ambassador for our shop and the world of books as he was for his great passion, the study of birds and bird life. May he rest in peace. From Charlie, Vinny, Noreen, Jean, Carmel, Megan, John, Emily and the other many staff members of Charlie Byrne's who held Tim in such affection and high regard over the years.

Sincere condolences to Tims family and friends. I had the great pleasure of being thought by Mr. Griffin in the Mercy Galway. He left a stamding impression on me for his considerate nature and instilled a love of birds upon me too as I grew. I often saw him perched with his bincolars over watching over the Corrib. A really lovely person and often thought of when I hear the birds song. Fly high in the skies Mr G. Rip.
