I (Carlo) had a wonderful lengthy conversation with Tom in January. His recently published book will live on as a lasting legacy as part of Limerick/Clare history.
I (Anne) have very fond memories of Tom and Nellie in my younger years who was regarded as part of our family. My last meeting with Tom was when he came to Limerick for his school reunion and as always he was as pleasant as ever.
Our last meeting with Tom and Nellie was at a family wedding in France in 2008 and as usual they were both great company.
The world is a poorer place without Tom, he was one of life's good guys and we consider ourselves fortunate to have known him.
May Tom and Nellie Rest in Peace together.

Reflecting on Tom today I first remember him from nearly 50 years ago - firstly when his beloved Nellie managed Tots To Teens; joining him winter pike fishing in far flung places like O’Briensbridge, Plassey and the canal in Killaloe; summer fishing in Killaloe and Mountshannon; his mobile home and bbq’s in “Miami” Mountshannon, the many trips out to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park including on our wedding day where we were given the freedom of the place and where he presented us with some Bunratty Mead.
A superb historian, raconteur, good humoured, interesting and witty man who was a genuine friend to both my parents until their deaths and a great fishing mentor to me.
Rest in peace Tom and may your spirit live on in Bunratty, Lough Derg and of course Le Barcarès.
