Very Rev. Raymond Liddane

Very saddened on the passing of Fr Liddane and sincere condolences to his family friends and priests. We knew Fr. Liddane for many years and he was so kind to Vanessa and I and appreciative of the music singing and choir with Sr Una. He will be dearly missed. He was such a kind sincere priest a great loss to the parish and we will remember him always.

Deep sadness was felt across the entire parish when news broke of the death of Fr. Raymond Liddane. Sympathy to his sister Josephine, nephews and extended family also to Bishop Cullinan and to Fr. Liam our parish priest and to Fr. Bobby. It was a privilege and an honour to have Fr. Raymond amongst us for 45 years. May you rest in eternal peace.

My deepest condolences to the family of Fr Liddane and all who knew and loved him. Fr. Liddane was a calm, kind, strong, and constant presence in our St. John of God school. I remember him joking with me during my first holy confession that he was sure my jumper and jeans combo would as lovely as my forthcoming communion dress. He was such a lovely soul who will be so very dearly missed.

Calm, thoughtful, warm, caring and wise, he has been an enduring and comforting presence in parish life and to all its people. I met Fr. Liddane when I made my First Communion in his first year in the parish in 1979 and up until Christmas this year, 45 years later, whenever I was home, we often had a quick chat after mass. I’ll remember him fondly and count my blessings to have had such a wonderful presence in my life.

Sincere condolences to the Liddane family on the passing of Very Rev. Raymond Liddane. Growing up in the area, Fr. Lindane was one of the first priests I remember and has been a constant presence and blessing in the parish throughout my life. Though my interactions with him were limited over the last number of years, he always made time for a quick chat whenever I was home. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

It is with deep sadness that we heard of the passing of Fr. Liddane. He was a man whose kindness, gentleness, and unwavering faith touched the hearts of all who knew him. To think he gave 70 years of his life (45 of those in our parish) in caring for the spiritual well-being of the Catholic people of Waterford is remarkable. He will not be forgotten.
